Whether you're looking for something specific or casually exploring, we make it easy to find the items you want. You can search our marketplace using search terms, photos, or by browsing categories.
Search using search terms
You can search for a specific item or product by entering a term or phrase into the search bar. For example, you can search for an item by name, like “Nintendo Switch”, or search for a type of product, like “video game consoles”. Our search engine finds results by matching terms in listings and by extracting details from listing photos.
To search using a search term:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the
Home page, tap on the search bar.
- Choose from 3 search options at this point:
- Type a search term into the search bar, then tap your device’s enter button to submit your search.
- Tap on a category pill (like Free or Saved Searches) to search by your preferred category.
- Tap one of your recent searches (if available) to quickly search for an item again.
Your results will show all the items that match your search within your search area.
To search using a search term:
- Visit OfferUp.com and log in to your account.
- On the

Browse by category
If you’d prefer to browse items by categories, you can select from our category menu options.
To browse by category:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the
- Tap on a category from the list, then choose View All to see all items in that category, or tap on a subcategory to narrow down your search results.
Your search results will show all items in the selected category and subcategory.
To browse by category:
- Visit OfferUp.com and log in to your account.
- On the
- To select a subcategory, hover your cursor over the category, then select an option from the dropdown menu.
Your search results will show all items in the selected category and subcategory.
Sort and filter your search results
After you perform a search, use the Sort and Filter tools to customize and refine your results.
- On your search results page, tap the
Sort icon at the top of your feed.
- On the Sort pop-up, select how you want your results sorted. Options include: Best Match, Recent First, Closest First, Price: Low to High, or Price: High to Low.
- Tap Apply to save your Sort settings.
Note
The Sort tool is unavailable if you search using a photo.
- On your search results page, click the Sort By dropdown menu at the top of your feed. Sort options include: Best Match, Recent First, Closest First, Price: Low to High, or Price: High to Low.
- Click on the option you want to sort search results by.
- Your results will refresh to reflect your Sort settings.
- On your search results page, tap the
Filter icon at the top of your feed.
- On the Filters pop-up, enter your desired filters such as location, delivery method, price range, or item condition. Filter options may vary depending on the category you’re searching under.
- Tap See Listings to save your Filter settings.
- On your search results page, view your Filters in the left-side menu.
- Enter a Price Range and click Go to filter by a minimum or maximum price. You can also filter by Condition, such as New or Used.
- Your results will refresh to reflect your Filter settings.
