Changing your search location on OfferUp allows you to browse and buy items locally or from anywhere in the United States.
How it works
Your search location determines what items show up in your feed. For example, you can change your search location to:

- See what’s for sale within a 30-mile radius of your current location.
- See what’s for sale in New York City, even though you’re in Seattle.
Setting a search location allows you to browse items in any U.S. city at any time. Simply share your location to shop for items near you, or enter a zip code to check out items in other cities.
Change your search location
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
For You.
- On the Filters pop-up, tap the Search Location field.
- On the Search Location page, tap Get My Location to share your device’s current location.
- If you haven’t enabled location sharing yet, you’ll get the Set Your Location pop-up. Tap Enable, then allow OfferUp to access your device’s location.
- If you don’t want to enable location sharing, enter a zip code instead.
- Tap Apply to save your search location.
- Visit OfferUp.com and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, click
- On the Location pop-up, click the City & State listed under Zip Code.
- On the Zip Code pop-up, click Get My Location to use your current location. Or type in a zip code instead.
- Click Apply to save your location.
Your home feed will immediately update to show items for sale in the new search area you entered. Please note, your new search location will only update on the device that you changed it on. It will not be reflected on other devices or computers.
Saving your search location to your profile
Sometimes, when you change your search location in the app, we’ll ask if you want to save that location to your profile as well. This helps ensure that your profile always stays up to date. To learn more, see Add or update your profile location.
