Want to know when sellers you like post new items? Follow them to receive notifications whenever they post something new. Users can follow you too so they know when you post new stuff. Having followers on your public profile shows potential buyers that people are interested in your items and helps build your reputation.
Follow a user
There are two ways to start following a user on our mobile app. Note: These features are not available on OfferUp.com.
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap on a listing you’re interested in.
- In the listing page, tap on the user’s profile picture.
- On the Profile page, tap the Follow button.
- Optional: Tap the user’s Followers and Following buttons to access other users who you may want to follow.
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- On the Account page, tap Followers to view the list of users who follow you.

On the Followers tab, tap the Follow button next to the user you want to follow.
Unfollow a user
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- On the Account page, tap Following to view the list of users you follow.
- On the Following tab, locate the user you want to unfollow, then tap the Following button next to their username.
NOTE
If you unfollow a user because they’re harassing or threatening you, we also recommend that you block them. When you block a user, they can’t send you messages or buy your items. You’ll also stop receiving notifications about their newly posted items. To learn more, see How to block and unblock users.
View your followers and following lists
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- On the Account page, tap Followers to view users who are following you. Tap Following to view users who you follow.
NOTE
