The safest way to contact other people on OfferUp is through the in-app messaging system. You can use it to ask questions about items, make offers, and reply to other users.
Asking about an item
To ask a seller about one of their items, complete the following steps:
1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
2. On the Home feed, tap on an item you're interested in.
3. On the listing page, tap Ask.
4. Tap one of the suggested messages to immediately send that question, or write your own and tap Send.

Sending an offer
To send a seller an offer on an item you’re interested in, complete the following steps:
1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
2. On the Home feed, tap on an item you're interested in.
3. On the listing page, tap Make Offer.
4. Enter your offer price, then tap Make Offer to send it in a message to the seller.

Replying to a message
To reply to a message, complete the following steps:
1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
2. Tap Inbox.
3. Tap any message thread on the list to read and reply to it.
