Tip
Make sure to follow our Posting Rules and Prohibited Items Guidelines when posting items. Any listing that violates our policies will be removed from our platform.
Post from the mobile app
To post an item using our mobile app, follow these steps to create your listing.
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Post in the bottom navigation bar.
- On the Post an Item page, tap Take Photo to snap a few photos of your item, or tap Select Photo to choose from your device’s gallery. You can add up to 12 photos.
- Tap Title to enter a name for your listing.
- Tap Description to enter details about your item.
- Tap Next to continue.
On the Details page:
- Select a Category for your item. In most cases, this field will be auto-filled for you.
- Optional: Select a Sub-Category.
- Select the Condition of your item, such as New or Used (Normal Wear).
- Optional: Complete any of the additional fields, as desired.
- Tap Next to continue.
On the Price page:
- Enter the asking price for your item.
- Optional: Turn on the Firm on Price toggle if your price is non-negotiable.
- Tap Next to continue.
On the Delivery Method page:
- Edit the location of your item using the Get My Location button or enter a ZIP Code.
This sets an approximate location; we will never show your exact location to other users. - Optional: Turn on the Sell & Ship Nationwide toggle to make your item available for shipping (fees apply). If the toggle isn’t available, your item is ineligible for shipping.
- Select Auto Accept to automatically accept the first full-price shipping offer.
- Select Are You Shipping Hazardous Materials if your item includes HAZMAT. Learn more in our Packaging Policy.
- Select Use Print-Free QR Code Shipping to receive a digital QR code instead of a printable shipping label.
- Choose a package size from the 5 available options.
- Tap Post to complete your listing and add it to the live feed.
- Note: For the first 30 minutes, your listing will be visible to Premium users only.
- Optional: On the Promote pop-up, add a promotion to get more eyes on your listing. Learn more about selling faster with promotions.
Post from a computer
OfferUp is a mobile-first marketplace. To post items for sale, you must use the OfferUp app on a smartphone or tablet. You cannot post items from the web using a computer.
However, if you regularly post a large number of items to our platform, consider joining OfferUp for Business. Our range of plans give high-volume sellers the flexibility to post and manage items in bulk—all from a laptop or desktop computer.
