What information do I need to provide on my listing?

The following information is required to create a job listing:

  • Job location (5-digit zip code)
  • Job title
  • Job description
  • Job category or industry
  • Employment type (part-time, full-time, or gig)
  • Company name
  • Apply method (website, email, or phone)

You may provide additional details in the optional fields.

Will my job listing post immediately?
Most job listings post to the feed within a few hours. However, it may take up to 24 hours due to our review process, which helps detect and prevent job scams on our platform. During the review process, we check that listings meet our specified guidelines before they can be posted. If your listing doesn’t meet our guidelines, we'll notify you by email.
How do I check if my job is live in the feed?
To check if your listing is live, just search for it. Enter the job title or company name in the search bar at the top of the feed, and make sure the search location matches where the job is listed.
How long will my job listing stay active?
Your job listing will remain active for 30 days from the posting date. After it expires, it will be removed from the live feed but will remain on your private My Jobs page.
How do applicants apply to my job?

When you create your job listing, you’ll decide how you want job applicants to apply by selecting from the following options:

  • Website
  • Email
  • Phone

Based on your selection, you’ll need to provide a web address, email, or phone number to direct applicants to start the application process. To change the apply method, visit your My Jobs page and edit the listing.

The Apply Method dropdown allows you to select how people will apply to your job.

Note

All communication between job applicants and employers occurs outside of OfferUp. Applicants and employers cannot chat through OfferUp’s messaging system.

Can I see if anyone’s looking at my job?
Yes. Track if candidates are engaging with your listings using the Insights dashboard. For more information, see Hire smarter with Insights.

Note

OfferUp cannot provide data on how many candidates apply to your jobs since all applications occur via third-party websites, phone, or email.

Can I get refunded for a job listing?
In most cases, we do not offer refunds for job listings. However, if your listing was mistakenly removed from the feed due to an automation error, we will accept a refund request.

To submit a refund request:

  1. Select the Contact Us button below.
  2. Choose My Account.
  3. From the Reason dropdown, choose Disputing Item Removal.
  4. Complete the required fields, then select Submit.

If your listing was removed because it violated our Prohibited Jobs Guidelines or Community Guidelines, we cannot offer a refund.
