Setting up a deposit account

To get paid for the items you sell using OfferUp Nationwide Shipping, you’ll need to set up a deposit account in the app using your debit card or bank account information. Make sure to set up your deposit account within 90 days after your first shipping sale so that you can receive your payments.

NOTE

You can only set up a deposit account in the OfferUp mobile app. This feature is not available on the web at OfferUp.com.

Deposit to a debit card

To set up a deposit account with a debit card, complete the following steps in the app:

  1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner to access your account.
  3. Under Transactions, tap Payment & Deposit Methods.
  4. Under Deposit Account, tap Add Deposit Account.
  5. Enter your debit card information and billing zip code, then tap Save.

NOTE

Prepaid debit cards cannot be used for deposit accounts.

Deposit to a bank account

To set up a deposit account with a bank account, complete the following steps in the app:

  1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner to access your account.
  3. Under Transactions, tap Payment & Deposit Methods.
  4. Under Deposit Account, tap Add Deposit Account.
  5. On the Add Debit Card page, tap Add Bank Account Instead
  6. Enter and verify your Routing Number and Account Number, then tap Save.

TIP!

You can find your routing and account numbers listed at the bottom of your bank-provided checks. If you don’t have your checks handy, log into your bank account online or contact your bank to retrieve your account numbers.

Edit a deposit account

Before you edit your deposit account, make sure to add a verified phone number or email address to your account profile. To learn how, see Verifying your contact information. When you edit your deposit account information, you'll be required to verify your identity via text or email. 

To edit your deposit account, complete the following steps in the app:

  1. Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right corner to access your account. 
  3. Under Transactions, tap Payment & Deposit Methods.
  4. Under Deposit Account, tap Edit > Change.
  5. Enter your new debit card or bank account information, then tap Save.
  6. Look for a text message (SMS) from OfferUp containing a 6-digit verification code.
    • Tap Resend if you don’t receive the text message.
    • Tap I don’t have this phone with me if you need the code emailed to you instead.
  7. Enter the 6-digit code into the app under Code, then tap Verify.

Delete a deposit account

You cannot delete a deposit account once it’s added. This is a precaution to ensure that we always have a way to deliver funds to you. However, you may Contact Us to request that we delete your deposit account information. We will work with you to make sure there are no outstanding payments owed to you before deleting your deposit account. 

Privacy

We’re serious about protecting your privacy. OfferUp does not collect any of the personal financial information that you provide.
