We’re making a big change to how people buy and sell on OfferUp. Starting September 23, 2025, we will no longer offer nationwide shipping.
Why we’re doing this
OfferUp started with a simple idea: help people easily and safely buy and sell great things within their own communities. Over time, we’ve seen that the true magic of OfferUp happens locally. By retiring shipping, we can dedicate our resources to making local transactions simpler, safer, and more rewarding.
When we’re doing this
Here’s a breakdown of the key dates and what they mean for you.
- September 23, 2025: You will no longer be able to select the shipping option when posting new items. From this date forward, all newly posted items must be for local pickup only.
- October 21, 2025: We will remove the shipping option from all existing items that do not have an active offer or a shipping transaction in progress. For any items with an in-progress transaction, the shipping process will be completed as usual.
We’ll notify affected buyers and sellers before each phase. Please note that all dates are subject to change at any time.
FAQs
For items you’ve already posted with shipping, you don’t need to do anything. Here’s how it will work:
- If an item has an active shipping order, that order will process as usual.
- In the coming months, the shipping option will be removed from all items that do not have active orders in progress. We’ll notify you by email before this happens.
Note: After Sept 23, 2025, you won’t be able to add shipping to any new items.
Yes. If you edit your item listing on or after Sept 23, 2025, you will not have the option to re-select shipping as your delivery method.
