The Community feed is currently in beta on our mobile app and may not be available in your area. If you don’t see Community in the app, then it’s not yet available to you. We’re working to roll this out nationwide and appreciate your patience!

The Community feed allows you to:
- Get local advice: Receive recommendations and tips from locals and hobbyists before making purchases.
- Share your knowledge: Contribute your expertise and insights to help others in your community.
- Build your reputation: Gain trust in your community by actively participating in discussions and offering helpful answers.
- Connect with your community: Connect with people who share similar interests and hobbies.
Note
All Community content must follow our Rules for Community Discussions. Any content that violates these rules will be removed from the feed.
Post a question
To post a question to the Community feed:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap the Post a Question floating button.
- On the Ask My Community page, type in your question.
- Tap Get Advice to add your question to the live feed.
Once you post, local OfferUp users will have access to read and respond to your question.
Reply to a question
To reply to a question in the Community feed:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap Add a Reply on any question.
- Type in your reply, then tap
Send.
Delete a question
You can delete any question that you posted at any time.
To delete a question from the Community feed:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- Tap Questions Asked, then locate the question you want to delete.
- Tap the
3 Dot menu in the top right corner, then tap Delete Post.
Share a question or reply
If you like a question or reply, you can share it with someone else by sending them the link.
To share a question or reply:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap on a post that you’re interested in.
- To share the question with someone else, tap
Share and select your sharing preference.
- To share a reply to a question, tap the
3 Dot menu above the reply, then tap Share.
Save a post
If you find a post you're interested in, you can save it to keep track of the conversation and get updates when new replies are added.
To save a post from the Community Feed:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap
Save on the post you want to save.
To review your saved posts:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- Tap Saved posts to locate the posts you’ve saved.
To unsave a post:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- Tap Saved Posts or open the post directly from the feed.
- Tap
Save again to unsave the post.
Vote on a question or reply
Tell community members that you found a question or reply helpful by voting on it.
To vote on a question or reply:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap on a post that you’re interested in.
- To vote on a question or reply, tap
Thumbs Up (Like) or
Thumbs Down (Dislike).
Get notified about new replies
When you get a reply to your question, you’ll receive an in-app notification.
To check your in-app notifications:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap Inbox.
- On the Inbox page, tap
Notifications in the top right corner.
- On the Notifications page, tap the notification to see the reply in the Community feed.
Tip
Want instant notifications sent to your device? Tap Turn on Notifications at the top of the Notifications page to receive push notifications. If you don’t see this button, you’re already enrolled. To learn more, see Manage notification preferences.
Get advice before you buy
If you’re interested in an item, but want the community’s insights or advice first, you can share the item in the Community feed along with your questions about it.
To share an item listing with the community:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home feed, tap on an item that you’re interested in.
- On the listing page, tap on the banner at the bottom of the item photos. It will say something like “Want a Second Opinion” or “Get Advice."
- On the Ask My Community page, enter your question about the item.
- Tap Get Advice to finish.
Your question will be posted to the Community feed along with a preview of the item’s details and a link to the listing. Community members can reply to your question to give you advice or recommendations.
Report inappropriate content or users
If you encounter inappropriate questions, replies, or users who violate our Rules for Community Discussions, please report them to us.
To report posted content or users:
- Open the OfferUp app and log in to your account.
- On the Home page, tap
Community.
- From the feed, tap the
3 Dot menu above any post or reply, then select what you want to report. Options include Report Post, Report User, or Report Reply.
All reported content is reviewed to ensure compliance with our Rules for Community Discussions.
