When you sell items using OfferUp nationwide shipping, you’ll need to provide a shipping address in case your package needs to be returned.
Update address before accepting an offer
You can add or edit your return address when you accept an offer on your item. This is the only time you can access your shipping address in the app or website. This option is not available from your account settings. Here’s how it works.
If the buyer sends you an offer using the Make Offer button, you’ll get an app notification asking you to accept or decline their offer. If you accept it, you’ll have the opportunity to confirm your details immediately. From the Confirm page, tap Edit to update your return address.

Update address after accepting an offer
If the buyer purchases your item instantly using the Buy Now button, the system will automatically accept their offer and create a shipping label for you. This process doesn’t give you the opportunity to review or edit your return address before accepting the offer.
In this case, you’ll need to open your shipping label to review your return address by going to Inbox > Notifications.
If your return address is incorrect on the shipping label, follow these steps:
- Do not ship the item. Instead, wait 5 days for the transaction to auto-cancel.
- Once the transaction is canceled, edit your listing to remove the Auto Accept (Buy Now) option from your listing. To learn how, see Auto accept shipping offers.
- When you receive a new offer notification, tap Accept.
- From the Confirm page, tap Edit to update your Return Address.
Your updated return address will display on your new shipping label.

If you’ve already shipped your item and realize that your return address is incorrect, contact the carrier (USPS) for assistance. Please note that OfferUp will not cover any additional fees that are associated with this process.
